This epic story begins on a quiet and peaceful island where life seems to be moving by uneventfully. This island however, as is common in anime, is not all that it appears to be. The inhabitants soon find their lives turn into chaos... but not everyone is as surprised by the unfolding events as they should be…

A group of youngsters suddenly finds that what they know of the world is only the tip of the iceberg. And due to an unexpected attack by a not so unexpected enemy, they are forced to help defend the island. Slowly they begin to realize how much their parents, and all the other adults on the island, have been involved in some kind of military operation for the past few decades. So apart from the battles against their enemy, there are also the personal struggles of how to deal with the changes.

Note: This show uses a number of German terms and characters/places from an opera called 'The Ring of the Nibelung'. Keep this in mind when watching.
