Mission Statement and History

Years ago, searching for anime was a perilous task outside of Asia. The frustration stemming from lack of efficient anime-searching methods sent homicide rates in most major cities to a record high. Several well-meaning, self-less individuals attempted to end this terror by creating a refuge; a place for people to gain access to anime easily and to even help send it to others. Thus, Anime-Empire was born...

Beginning its journey to perfection, Anime-Empire created an IRC channel on the reknowned network, DALnet. This channel was dedicated to fulfill the needs of the proliferating number of anime fans. It became a center of anime distribution due to its easy access and the efficient serving methods. Additionally, fans were able to converse, distribute, and trade anime without much hassle.


In response to the fast growing anime community, AE members created a new fansub division called Anime-Empire Genesis (AE-G), dedicated to producing quality anime for the enjoyment of fans. After a brief tenure on the DALnet IRC network, AE Genesis expanded to the EnterTheGame IRC network (irc.enterthegame.com). Ever since its creation, AE Genesis has been established as one of the leading fansubbing groups in the digital anime community, providing fans with high-quality fansubbed anime and raising the bar on fansubbing standards.

Through careful observation, members of Anime-Empire noticed that fans of anime were also interested in manga as well, and thus gave birth to Anime-Empire Nisei (AE-N), the second generation, to service their needs. Like AE Genesis, AE Nisei strives to provide fans of Japanese manga the best 'scanslations' of favourite, contemporary titles available.

There is no end in sight... there will always be fans, new and old, so Anime-Empire will always be around to provide them with something to watch or read. As previously stated and further stressed, anything produced by Anime-Empire and subsidiaries thereof are made for fans, by fans. We wish only to help expand the Japanese animation market to North America, without harming or impeding the business in any way. Therefore, once a title has been licensed in North America, we wish for fans to discontinue distribution of said title, and encourage others to purchase the newly released DVDs and mangas in their local anime/manga dealers.
